Aidan,
So your little brother is 4 months already. And you have adjusted pretty well, I think. You are getting really good at sleeping in your own bed, although I really do miss our cuddles at night. I think it is funny how your insight on who is responsible for Noah is, and you think mommy is the only one who should be taking care of him. I get it. Daddy is your buddy. But dude, you have got to let him have some time with Noah too. Anytime he holds him, you ask him why, and beg him to give him back to me. It's quite comical really. You and Daddy love to play Mario together, and you have gotten quite good at Super Mario (some thanks to our recent trip to Texas to visit your cousins). Mario has been our bargaining chip when it comes to your bad behavior. We sometimes have to take your time away from playing when you don't listen or act out. And let me tell you, you have been acting out more lately, more so since you've become a big brother. I get it, I really do. But man, I can't wait until it's over. I will admit, you have gotten a lot better lately about throwing temper tantrums. But you do still pout, and that's what gets me. I feel like we can't get through to you when you pout. So, I am hoping this phase ends very soon.
This past month, you had your routine visit to the dentist. Let me just say, you did AMAZING! You sat still while they took xrays and cleaned your teeth. Unfortunately, you did have 2 cavities, one on your bottom left molar, and one on your upper right molar. Since they are your molar baby teeth, we decided to get them filled. So when the day came for your fillings, you did AWESOME yet again. They gave you some 'giggle gas' and fixed your teeth. You were pretty silly while on the gas....you basically acted like a happy drunk toddler. Now that was comical. On the other hand, they only had to numb your left side, so your whole mouth wasn't dead. And we went to lunch shortly after. You were so brave at the dentist though. Mommy is very proud of you. Now we just have to keep encouraging you to brush your teeth (and take showers...but that's a different story).
At school, you have been doing better at drawing pictures. I can actually tell what they are, and your people actually look like people (with really big heads). I love all the drawings you do, but you do get sent home with at least 4-5 different pages each day. Mommy can't keep all of them straight, let alone the fact that they are all in my back seat of the car.
We upgraded your booster seat this February too. We took out the harness and let you use just the seatbelt. You have become such a big kid lately (maybe it's because you took on the role of big brother). You love to play outside, and now that we moved and have a fenced in yard, you love it even more. We live on a hill, and one of your favorite things to do is ride your big wheel down the hill going full speed. Scares me to death, so we decided to make you wear your helmet. I really don't want another trip to the ER soon...lets try to go this year without one.
Aidan, you really have developed into such a big boy, and Mommy is so proud of everything you have accomplished. I hope you dont' think I stopped loving you because I have to tend more to your little brother. I love you more than ever before. I hope you understand that little guy. Keep enjoying your childhood!
Love you to pieces,
Mommy
