Honeymoon

We have already decided, and booked, our honeymoon to St. Lucia in the Carribbean. We are going to be staying at a Sandals resort for 7 days/6 nights. We have a few activities scheduled such as: whale/dolphin watching, biking tour across the island, and a volcano tour (drive-thru). One night while we are there, we have a special night planned: candlelit private dinner for two on the beach. It is going to be so beautiful, I can't wait to stick my feet in the sands and see the crystal clear blue waters.

What our room would look like (or something similar to it):

I am so ready to go there...

I can't wait for this MUCH needed vacation...its going to be such a romantic, relaxing time with my sweetie!

Dress Fitting

Well, I had my first alterations appointment today at David's Bridal. It went very well, I have to say. I thought I was going to have to hem the skirt with my shoes, but it ended up being the perfect length. Basically today, we did the pick up of the train. My next appointment isn't until May, but I am getting super excited for my big day!

I also found my veil today as well. I decided to 'look' around when I stumbled upon the veil that would match the beading on my dress. I loved everything about it, and asked the alterations lady about having one ordered. It turns out that the veil had been discontinued and that one was the only one left in the store. So, I decided to go ahead and purchase it anyways. It seems like that's been the way everything else has turned out when it comes to my dress shopping. I mean, I didn't even pick out the dress to try on and ended up loving it, then my shoes were by accident. I was looking to find a 'style' that I liked, and tried on a pair that I didn't think I could see myself wearing. Turns out, once I put them on, I fell in love with them immediately.

I should probably stop shopping on impulse, but it seems to be on my side so far!

Wedding Cakes

Derek and I have decided on a wedding caterer and bakery for our wedding reception. After attending two bridal shows in January, only one catering company has stood out. Sweet Dreams Catering is based out of Meriden, KS. They have delicious food and their cakes are so moist!

It will soon be time to look for wedding cake ideas. I know we want a four-tiered cake with chocolate, strawberry, and white flavoring. Here are some pictures of wedding cake designs that I like:

I know that I like the cakes that are square and alternating. I also have thought about putting real flowers on the cake was well, maybe in a cascading sense.

Aidan's first day

Today was my baby's first day of daycare. It's been so easy having 'grandma' watch him during the first 6 months of his life. He now gets to be around other babies and new faces. He did very well for his first day. I would have to say it was harder on me than on him though. I thought about him all day, but decided to not call and check in on him. When I picked him up, he was sleeping soundly in the swing...so peaceful. I can't believe that my baby is already 6 months old and growing so fast. At least daycare seems like it will be an easy transition for him.

and now at 6 months old.
